Dubbele Dosis Heuwels vir jou?

Vir Die Volkslied, die derde video af die Heuwel se Alles wat Mal Is, het Simon Barnard en Wim Steytler kragte saamgespan om die video vir die lied te ontwikkel en verfilm. Willie Nel, een van die land se voorste kameramanne, het die fotografie behartig.

Die video is in die Noorde van Pretoria geskiet en ondersoek ‘n baie spesifieke subkultuur wat deel van daardie wêreld uit maak.

Oor die video sê Simon Barnard: “Dit is ‘n baie dubbelsinnige stuk werk – karige lewensomstandighede maar gelukkige mense. Die uniekheid van die video lê grootliks in die eerlikheid daarvan”.

In ander Heuwels Nuus, word die groep se live DVD, Live op Paul Cluver, môre vrygestel.

Die DVD is verfilm by die  Bloekombos Amfiteater op die Paul Cluver landgoed.

Volgens Pierre Greeff, wou die groep lank reeds daar speel en toe die geleentheid om daar te speel vorendag kom, het die groep nie twee keer gedink nie.

Oor die DVD se Pierre: “Die wonderlike ding van die DVD is dat dit ons katalogus van liedjies op hierdie stadium ordentlik bymekaar bring.”

Goud + Goud + Goud = Die Heuwels Fantasties.

En dis drie in ’n ry vir die groep Fantasties, Die Heuwels Fantasties.

Alles Wat Mal Is, die groep se derde album, het gister – soos hulle vorige twee albums – die goue status mylpaal gehaal.

Lekker – geluk manne!

Die groep is uiteraard uiters gelukkig met die derde plaatjie wat hulle op hulle mantel kan plak.

Hier is die manne se reaksie op hulle prestasie:

Pierre Greeff:  “Dat ons derde album so vinnig kon goud gaan is wonderlik! Dankie aan ieder en elke een wat ons ondersteun en ons musiek koop julle maak dit moontlik vir ons om te doen wat ons doen. Baie dankie!”

Hunter Kennedy:  “Ek is so dankbaar dat mense so gretig is om ons te ondersteun. Dis ‘n seën dat so baie aanhangers aanklank vind by ons musiek. Hierdie tipe erkenning spoor ons net aan!”

Die goue status is nie al waaroor die manne opgewonde is nie. In April slaan hulle ’n landwye toer met die hulp en ondersteuning van MK en Blackberry. SKOLEJAM gaan ’n tikkie Heuwels na kleiner dorpies en skole neem, waar hulle musiek nog nie vantevore live gevier is nie. Rakende die toer sê Pierre Greeff: “Dit is ‘n wonderlike platform vir ons om ons musiek te neem na mense wat nog nie ons vertonings gesien het nie. Hierdie toer sou nie moontlik gewees het sonder borge soos MK en BlackBerry nie. Dit is wonderlik en toon hul verbintenis tot die Suid-Afrikaanse musiektoneel en die land se jeug.”

Die groep beplan vêrder die vrystelling van twee nuwe opwindende vidoes in die nabye toekoms. Die video’s sal vir Rofstoeigreep en Die Volkslied wees.

Die Heuwels Fantasties pushing boundaries online.

South Africa’s top Afrikaans alternative pop band will pioneer a new form of release with their new music video Beloofde Land.

The music video will be a mix of a live performance and footage taken by ten of South Africa’s top directors. Rumors also have it, that fans can expect a little surprise at the end.

Beloofde Land will live on its own website – www.diebeloofdeland.co.za. Viewers will be able to interact with the video with their Twitter handles and see a different version of the video every time they interact.

“We are very excited. This is an innovative avenue and a world-first when it comes to online video and this type of Twitter integration. Everything was made possible by the agency, August, and our head-director, Duvan Durand. This is a huge project and would not be possible without SIR JUICE and BlackBerry’s support. Big ups for them!” Pierre Greeff, lead singer of Die Heuwels Fantasties, said.

Beloofde Land is due for release by the end of this month.

Die Heuwels Fantasties will host a live Google Hangout concert on Tuesday, 12 November. The band will also do a live TwitterView Hangout performance and interview with Vodacom Color on Thursday, 15 November. Keep an eye out on

Die Heuwels Fantasties will soon let loose Alles Wat Mal Is.

Die Heuwels Fanatsties have their fans bubbling with excitement, as this Afrikaans supegroup readies themselves for the release of their much anticipated third album – Alles Wat Mal Is.

The album is set for release in early November.

According to Die Heuwels, the third release will be a good hybrid between the previous two albums.

The band’s first two releases, Die Heuwels Fantasties and Wilder as die Wildtuin, both shot to gold in no time.

For the writing and recording process, DHF, rented a house in Houtbay for three months. The lyrical master, Hunter Kennedy and frontman Pierre Greeff, penned down the lyrics, whilst the music was written in conjunction with Fred den Hertog.  Fred was also responsible for all of the programming during the production phase.

Violins, an accordion, a saxophone and some piano was later recorded in Stellenbosch with a few of their friends.

The first single off Alles Wat Mal Is have already set sail through our airwaves, taking DHF fans to Die Beloofde Land.

Die Heuwels Fantasties wins a Bokkie Award…

The award winning band has made a good run of 2012 pounding in three Ghoema Awards and a Huisgenoot Tempo Award. On the 9^th of October they grabbed another one, this time a…Bokkie Award. The award was for Best Alternative Song of the Year and went to Wonder bo Wonder, their collaboration with Connie de Villiers.
